Who doesn’t want to have a clean and healthy body? Many of us aim for this goal, which is why we go through diet programs, exercise routines, and have ourselves pampered in spas. Having a clean body inside and out ensures us of a disease-free and longer life. One of the ways by which total internal cleansing can be achieved is through detox for your body.

Detoxicating your body is one the most effective measures to cleanse the body. It is the process of removing toxic substances and excreting them through body fluids. These toxins, which include various chemicals like food preservatives, pollutants and the like, have harmful effects in the body. We can get them from the water we drink and the food we eat. We also could acquire these toxins from the air that we breathe. The natural detoxifiers within our bodies process these toxins in the liver and kidneys excreting them in the form of sweat, urine, and feces. But if the body becomes overwhelmed with all these toxic substances, beware and listen. Our natural body detox system might be crying for help.

Our natural body detox system can’t do the body cleansing alone. We have to help in maintaining a clean and healthy body. Here is some advice for effective detox for your body and maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

BE WISE. If you don’t want toxic build up in your body then go for a non-toxic lifestyle. This means giving up preservative-rich foods that you usually take. Yes, those are the stuff we enjoy eating but the over consumption of which is not good. This also means changing your diet. Drink a lot of fluids, especially water and fruit juices. Also, take as much vegetables and fresh fruits and avoid foods and drinks that contain caffeine, sugar, alcohol, and preservatives. It pays to be wise in choosing the food we eat.

BE ORGANIZED. Have a plan. People who do the detox diet usually do a weekend fasting. It is good to start on a Friday or on a day when you wouldn’t be doing activities that require much energy. It is better if you do it gradually so that the body could adjust well. Be sure to make a diet that you can follow. Don’t do it without thinking. Make a plan and be organized. Don’t forget to consult your doctor!

BE SWEATY. Appreciate nature. Go outdoors and feel the fresh air. Take a walk to appreciate the world around you. The fresh air can do great things for your lungs and blood circulation. Exercise regularly to improve your body’s resistance. You can also try yoga and other things that will keep you energized and keep you moving on.HAVE A BREAK. Don’t be a workaholic. Have time for yourself. Go to the spa and shed off those dead skin cells. Rubbing the skin also improves blood circulation. Watch out also for the foods that you take in. Fiber rich foods, tea and other herbs are good. They can help in aiding the bowel movement. In this way, the possibility of toxins being absorbed by the body lessens.

SMILE. Be optimistic. Get rid of all those negative thoughts. Remember that negative thoughts can stress you out, which become added toxins in the body. Smile always and stay happy. Have a sound mind and a sound body.

Detox for your body is not difficult, may it be inside or outside. It just needs discipline and commitment. Don’t just start things out, finish them. Always keep in mind that detoxification is not meant to take away enjoyment from you. In fact, the main requirement of detoxification is for you to enjoy, be alive and happy.
